Once we are faced with relationships that turn bad it is easy to remember that trust is like a paper once it is crumpled it can never be perfect again. Trust is like an eraser – it get thinner and thinner each time mistakes has been made. Trust is a very tricky thing with any relationships, and people use their own defense mechanisms to survive lies.
I have been both – a liar and the one who had been lied. It is always easy for us to defend what we do and why we do it – on that moment. Often we thought that it is better to feed people with lies in order to protect them. Sometimes, we lied to people we love in hope that it will hinder them from the truth that hurts them.
The things is lies are built upon other lies – it become inception. A lies above a lies – one after one and in the end ; it will be the one who ruins us. The truth will be discover. I have tells lies previously in my relationship – it does me no good at all ; no one would ever trust me again – at least not in the same way. I have been lied too – it broke me apart. I can never put the same level of trust upon the person.
Once you meet someone you can be the person that trusts immediately, or you can be the individual that trusts by actions. Either way, you understand that once someone has broken your trust it is very hard to get this back. You will lose part of what you and that person had, and may never be able to straighten the situation.
Every good relationship is founded on the basis of trust and good communication. However, trust is vital because you have to believe that what someone is saying to you is true. That you can depend on them if times get hard, and that you know that they have your best interest at heart.
Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships. – Stephen Covey
In relationships, we often find that trust is one of the most fragile things that exists because it is nearly impossible to repair. Once someone has lied to you, unless you find it upon yourself to seek healing, you will never be able to believe them again. If you have ever seen a crumpled piece of paper straightened back out, you can see the lines where the damage occurred. When you are dealing with trust issue in your life you need to understand that your relationship will never be what it was.
However, that does not mean that you can never make it better, and you should always continue to strive for the best relationships with the people that you have in your life and the key is to give them a chance – give yourself a chance to heal.
